Looking for something uplifting to do with your family? Then why not try out some creative arts projects? Creating art together can be a wonderful way to bond and, what’s better, you don’t have to be an artist to have a blast. Here are a few simple and fun projects to get your family inspired.

Watercolor Marble Swirls

This project is extremely easy to do and lots of fun for all ages. All you’ll need is some watercolor paper, watercolor paint, a brush, and a container of water. To begin, gather your materials and set up a work station. Put a little bit of watercolor paint onto a plate or palette, then dip your brush in the water and get it slightly damp. Dip your brush into a desired color and swirl it into the water.

Now, take your paper and place it onto the surface. Then, using your brush, swirl the colors onto your paper. The paints will naturally blend together and create a beautiful marble-like effect. It can be an experiment in color blending and your project will be one-of-a-kind!

Pasta Art

Another fun project for kids of all ages is pasta art. To get started, you’ll need a variety of pasta shapes and sauces in different colors. A good option is to use mashed potatoes and a selection of different vegetables, like carrots, onions, and peppers. Cut them into small pieces, then mix them together until everything is completely blended.

Once the mixture is complete, grab a baking tray and spread it onto the surface. Place the pasta pieces in interesting shapes and patterns and let them bake for about 30 minutes, until everything is golden-brown. When done, take it out of the oven and let it cool down.

Now that the project is complete, you and your family can marvel at the beautiful creation that you have made.

Paper Mache

Last, but certainly not least, one of the best projects to do as a family is paper mache. For this project, you’ll need paper, glue, water, and balloons. Start by tearing up some paper into strips. Then, mix one part of glue with one part of water in a bowl or container. Submerge the paper strips into the mixture and let them sit for a few minutes.

Once the strips are soaked, start covering the balloon with them, making sure to cover the entire surface. Let the paper dry for a few hours and, when it’s dry, pop the balloon and cut off the excess paper. Now, you and your family can take the paper mache and use it decorate your house, create sculptures, and much more.

These creative projects are sure to be a hit with your family. Just gather the materials, settle in for some quality time together, and unleash your inner creativity!
